Let me just say, I wish I had a bag of Doritos and if I had a bag……I’d crush ‘em! Have you ever had a great day, then in the midst of it….BLAH happens? Well, guess that was it for me. But it was all my fault! (hmm guess when you blog while you are blah..it is a BLUG! ha ha…okay so I guess my sick humor is a sign I am okay after all!).
Shall I explain? I look forward to Thursdays each week. Thursday is GDO (Girls Day Out) for Jordyn and me. We start off the morning bright and early and make our trek on 295 to see our buds at CBS (Community Bible Study). Then, normally, we do errands, grab a coffee and sometimes a quick lunch or snack. We take our time and enjoy being out of the “Heights” for the day.
Today, Jordyn I decided we were going to go to Taco Bell for lunch. The ‘power of suggestion’ got us from their recent commercials and we wanted a Gordita! Mmm. I haven’t been to Taco Bell in years! We order our lunch, I pray a “prayer of faith” over our lunch and we ate ourselves silly. (BTW, I highly recommend the Gordita and the Chicken Chalupa!).
I had a wedding gift to pick up so we headed to Target. I hadn’t been in the store 5 minutes when I saw what I thought could be Becky’s swimsuit of the season! It was a cute, deep celery green bandeau one piece. I couldn’t believe it….I actually LOVED it! (which is rare for me and swimsuits). I was so excited I rushed to the fitting room thinking this could possible be “the one!!”. What was I thinking??? Jordyn anxiously waited for me to appear from the dressing room and declare the 2008 swimsuit miracle. Well, I emerged from the dressing room , swimsuit in hand. I guess Jordyn could tell from my facial expression……she better not ask any questions!!!!!
Let’s just say….I am planning to get my hair done next week…..want to add a reddish –tint. Well, good thing my salon appointment wasn’t this week or I would have looked like an olive!
My advice for the week: Never try on swimsuits after eating fast food.
I'm off to the kitchen to pop some popcorn, but I’ll leave you with the only verse that comes to mind:
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (The Message)
So we're not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There's far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can't see now will last forever.
